ACCOMMODATION

IIT Kharagpur has always been well-known for its warm hospitality. The friendly atmosphere among students and the pleasant environment here offer more to its sojourners than just accommodation. As a participant of the Fest, your hospitality is our primary concern. We will make sure that your short stay with us will be pleasant and comfortable. The Fest will surely be a memorable experience for you. To assist you in the best possible manner, we require a few preliminary things to be checked from your side. First, you must make sure that you register yourself on our website through our online registration feature.

REGISTRATION FEE

To be paid only in cash at the registration desk during Megalith, IIT Kharagpur.
Events + Accommodation + ACCE Bridge Design & TEXEL Earthquake resistant Workshops (for outstation participants) = Rs. 1300 (600 + 100* + 600)
Events + Accommodation (for outstation participants) = Rs. 600 + 100*
ACCE Bridge Design & TEXEL Earthquake resistant Workshops (for in-house participants) = Rs. 600

*Rs.100 is taken as caution money and is refundable at the end of the fest.

INSTRUCTIONS

Only participants from outside of Kharagpur will be considered for accommodation.
All the participants are required to carry their college identity cards which will be verified at the Accommodation Desk with your registered entries.
The registration fee should be paid in cash at the Registration Desk after reaching IIT Kharagpur. There is no provision for online payment.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q WHAT IS THE PARTICIPATION FEE FOR EVENTS AND WORKSHOPS?

For participation, a fee of ₹ 600 will be charged which will include accommodation. For attending our workshops, a separate fee of ₹ 600 will be charged. For details regarding workshops click here. Caution money of ₹ 100 per participants will also be taken which will be returned after the fest.

Q FOR WHAT DURATION WILL THE ACCOMMODATION BE AVAILABLE TO THE PARTICIPANTS?

Accommodation will be available from 6 PM of 23th February to 12 noon of 27th February 2017.

Q WHAT ARE THE METHODS OF PAYMENT?

All fees must be paid in cash only at the registration desk once you reach IIT Kharagpur campus.

Q WILL FOOD BE PROVIDED TO THE PARTICIPANTS?

Food stalls at the arena and restaurants in the campus will be available but the participants have to pay for it themselves.

Q WHAT ACCESSORIES SHOULD I BRING ALONG WITH ME TO THE EVENTS?

All participants are required to bring their college ID card. If you are planning to attend workshops, a laptop would be required.

Q WHAT WILL BE THE LEVEL OF PROBLEM STATEMENTS?

All the problem statements will require basic knowledge of your undergraduate studies along with some research made on the particular topic. None of the problem statements will be so sophisticated as to be above the general understanding of an Undergraduate student.

Q ARE THERE ANY SEPARATE REGISTRATION CHARGES FOR THE EVENTS?

There is only one time registration for the events and participants can participate in as many events as they like.

Q WILL PARTICIPATION CERTIFICATES ALSO BE GIVEN?

Not only participation certificates, participants will be provided with goodies and accessories from the sponsors.

Q HOW TO REACH IIT KHARAGPUR?

Kharagpur can be reached in about 2 hours by train from Howrah railway station of Kolkata or 3 hours by car from Kolkata Airport. The Institute is about 10 minutes drive, 5 km from the Kharagpur railway station. Private taxi, autorickshaw or cycle-rickshaw can be hired to reach the Institute.

Q WHAT ACCESSORIES SHOULD I BRING ALONG WITH ME TO THE EVENTS?

All participants are required to bring their college ID card. If you are planning to attend workshops, a laptop would be required.

Q HOW WILL YOU BE HELPING US WITH DIRECTIONS IN YOUR CAMPUS AS I HAVE HEARD IIT KHARAGPUR HAS A LARGE CAMPUS?

You will be provided with the map of the campus for your perusal. Also there will be markers at several parts to make sure you are not lost.

Q I AM PLANNING TO BRING MY RELATIVE ALONG WITH ME TO IIT KHARAGPUR. WHAT ARRANGEMENTS FOR ACCOMMODATION WILL BE MADE FOR THEM?

If participants decide to bring additional visitors along with them who will not participate in any of the events, Megalith team will not be responsible for the arrangement of accommodation and other amenities for the visitors.

Q CAN SEATS IN THE WORKSHOPS BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE?

Admission to workshops will be provided on a first come first serve basis only.
